About six years ago me and my ex were arrest for domestic violence simple assault. In the end all charges were dismissed and neither of us were charged with anything. Now I am currenty seeking to becoming a Police Officer. I just graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice and I was wondering if that arrest is going to greatly effect my chances of becoming an officer? I have been in no other trouble, not even a traffic ticket. I did discuss this with several of my Professors, some of whom were former Officers, they told me that I shouldn't have any real problems. Believe me, I realize that it is not a good thing, but I wanted some real intake on how much it may impact hiring decisions. I was also wondering if maybe some Officers had experienced similiar problems, or know someone who may have. If some one could help me out that would be great.
