Hello all. I am going through the process of becoming a Police officer. In Broward County FL, if you are not a certified officer, you must successfully complete a battery of tests before you can be considered for employment.
The swim test, the C.J.-BAT and the physical agility test. I have successfuly completed the swim test which is valid for life,and I took the C.J.-BAT on Wednesday of last week.
The minimum passing score is 70%. Some depts. want a minimum score of 80%. I will get my test results this Wed.
I walked away from the test feeling good about it. I am confident of a passing score, maybe high 80s or low 90s.
This test is valid for two years.
I will take the physical agility test at the end of the month.
That is without a doubt my strong point. I will pass and start putting in applications at a couple of dept. I have been talking with a few recruiters and thay say my chances are good.
I am considering leaving my current job of 9 years in the near future. There are rumors that the store is being sold. There are alot of diffrent reasons why I want to move on. I have been offerd a position at a good company and I am considering taking it until I am offered a position with law enforcement.
I am concerned this won't look good on my appl. Feed back PLEASE.

Most of what my city pd looks for is that you have been steadily employed for a time. They don't like terminations or job hopping (defined as switching jobs every few months).

Thanks Stump. I have had only three jobs in the last 25 years.

Perhaps I forgot to mention the girl of my dreems makes good money and wants to share it with me. LOL
Besides a first year officer in my county only makes about 40K
a year, not includeding overtime and details.
