I failed mine in January. They asked me a lot of questions before the poly that hadn't been asked during the background interview or PHI process that I just honestly hadn't remembered until she asked them. It was all just a lot of little things.I answered them truthfully and honestly and she stated that nothing i said was a disqualifier and then a month later I got the thanks but no thanks letter. It sucks but keep plugging along.

For those who plan on undergoing a poly, don't read this thread. It will just make you nervous. If you believe that the poly is 99.999% accurate than it will only help you stay calm because you know that as long as you answer truthfully you will be OK.

Isn't it pretty to think so.

I failed my first three polygraphs even though I was telling the truth and I believed that the polygraph was accurate. At that point in my life I had never heard anything negative about the polygraph and assumed that if law enforcement agencies were using it then it must be useful and accurate.

Certainly an applicant should tell the truth, but that is no assurance of passing your polygraph or CVSA.

If you tell the truth and fail just move along to the next agency at which you applied. Better yet, find an agency that does not rely on the pseudoscience of the polygraph or the CVSA.
