I failed my first three polygraphs even though I was telling the truth and I believed that the polygraph was accurate. At that point in my life I had never heard anything negative about the polygraph and assumed that if law enforcement agencies were using it then it must be useful and accurate.
Certainly an applicant should tell the truth, but that is no assurance of passing your polygraph or CVSA.
If you tell the truth and fail just move along to the next agency at which you applied. Better yet, find an agency that does not rely on the pseudoscience of the polygraph or the CVSA.
