    Curiosity...

    Hello,
First off I would like to thank all the LEO's out there, wherever and whoever they may be, for putting their lives on the line everyday for many people so they may sleep and roam the streets in safety(THANK YOU).
I'm curious in finding out about the NYC DEP Police Officer job(Watershed). Does anyone know of the training and the duties of these officers? Does a cadet get to go home everyday or do they have to be lodged there? How long is the training and how are they perceived by other LE agencies? The more info on this subject will be greatly appreciated and taken seriously by me. All replies will be a guide for me, so please be considerate towards me and know what you're typing and not be "assuming" for 100% of you message.
I have done research to answer these question to the best of my "Internet" capabilities. However, the answers to these questions were limited and not exactly "specific" to my satisfaction. Not to say that the "Internet" is unreliable(hey, i'm using it to gain info. right now...lol), but I'm hoping I can get info. from the best source, NYC DEP Police Officers themselves who have gone thru the process of the academy and are/was working "on the beat".

    THANK YOU,
    American Citizen

P.S. Websites will be helpful along with suggestions of other means to obtain the information on which I seek other than the Internet. I've already visited the "DEP" website and googled my fingers off, but to no avail did I get the answers to my questions. I apologize to the staff if I violated or posted this thread in the wrong forum.
