DUI 4 years ago, will it affect me now?

I'm currently in the Air Force, stationed in Tucson. My job is Munitions Journeyman (Bomb Builder/Tech) I am looking at my options when my enlistment is up.

When I was fresh out of basic/tech school, my first duty assignment was to North Pole Alaska. I turned 21 soon after my arrival to AK and got a DUI, this was 4 years ago now. If I can say one positive thing about that, I sure as heck learned a lot. How bad of a wrinkle will this put in my BI and my interview. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

4 years is not enough time, I'll bet you need closer to 8 if you have any chance at all.

A. More than one serious traffic violation (D.U.I., reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident within the last 5 years.
B. Any serious traffic violation (D.U.I., reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident) within the past 3 years.
C. Any recent demonstrated pattern of excessive traffic violations (for positions that require operation of a
motor vehicle).

But I'm guessing my chances are at the bottom huh? Its not going to keep me from trying though. I do have the military background that may assist me in some way.

Bear in mind, too, that you're being evaulated against other candidates who may not have had the same blemishes on their record. Meeting the basic qualifications is one thing, and if you do that, you can continue in the process without being automatically disqualified. However, you still have to be better than the other candidates in order to be hired.
