    LAPD oral psych interview?

    I have a oral psych interview with LAPD in 2 days. What does the interview consist of? Are they going to mess with my head with trick questions? Should I be nervous?

    They're just going to ask you about things that came up on your background and your childhood. If you had a nice squeaky clean family with no problems you should be out of there in less than an hour. If that's not the case, you'll be like me and have to come in twice. My time with them has come close to 3hours.

    From my impression they will try and get into your head, but they will be very covert about it. Just keep a positive attitude like you would any interview.

    The link is a well written article concerning the PSYCH exam given to LAPD and LASD applicants. Should be a good read to those who are concerned about that portion of the hiring process.

    Congrats!!!

    Once I pass my physical this sat I should be lined up for this too...

    Say you have an uncle that has been in trouble a few times drugs mainly, breakin probation etc...I dont really see him much...maybe once a year. Also I know my father may have some minor things that I dont really know about...will they question me on that stuff???

    Yes i'm sure that will come up, because a lot of the interview is based on your background.
