Man, I've been pursuing LAPD job for 2 years. I always suck at multiple choices, but I do good on essays. Luckly, LAPD is currently giving out essays only. I gave up trying after my 5th try. Now, I'm on process. Actually, you should appeal.

Had they actually hired you and then let you go? If so that really sucks. Hang in there man. If the Marines tursted you to fly a plane, I'm sure there's an agency out there that will want you.
Well, let me explain that. It really depends on what subject. I don't really know why I am not good with entry multiple choice test, but I'm good at class exam type. I don't know why that is. I mean...when I went to college I did real good on my exams and they were all multiple choices. I guess if there's something to study for I would do good.

It's funny that the grass is always greener on the other side. I take you were a pilot in the Marines.......I'd love to trade spots with you. My vision was too bad to get into the military crushing my dream of flying, but yet I'm a cop.
Like many said before; don't give up. Keep trying and shop around.

Keep at it pilot! I wasn't hired on my first try, but I didn't give up. There are many other places in FL that are hiring, so start doing your research.
If you once don't succeed, you must try, try, try again.

I will be praying for you. I always trust in Jesus Christ. I will be praising him before and after I get my job. I am currently in the Polk County Sheriff's Office application process. I have already passed the interview and I am waiting for my other test as part of my conditional offer of employment.:D
And to say it again, WOW! I can't believe this thread is still going!
Thanks to EVERYONE who has sent well wishes my way. Things have been pretty tough, and I still haven't gotten any news about why I was let go. When I called the Director of Human Resources he basically told me he didn't even know my name, just scanned records and made decisions. Said I should know what's in my background that did me in. Well, DUH, if I knew, do you think I'd be calling and asking?
Anyway, wanted to let everyone know that I am having a GREAT day today! Had an interview with a much smaller, college PD here in the area, and the interview went REALLY WELL as far as I can tell. Don't know how many were interviewing, but I'm pretty sure their only looking for 1 person. But, to let everyone know, after the structured interview was over, I probably sat and gabbed with the panel for 10 to 15 minutes about all kinds of things, and they seemed to take to me pretty well. Then, after it was over, I talked with the Sgt who walked me out and the Sgt told me they had everything that my last agency had on me, and that their Chief had no complaints so far! So, that's really good news, as far as I'm concerned. (Also, the Sgt told me that if I did get the position, that I would be working days on the Field Training Program until I finished the academy, and then once I got my state test done, I would get sworn in and be rockin' and rollin' right away!)
Then, to make my day EVEN BETTER, I went to a Realtor Appreciation luncheon from this company who I brought a buyer to, and WON a door prize valued at $350!! (It's a full page advertising coupon in the local Find-A-Home magazine!) WOW! Talk about a GREAT THING for someone just trying to get started in Real Estate!
Anyway, thanks again for all the well wishes, and keep them coming if you want, but I know in the end, all will be A-OK. Heck, I even have a conditional OK from the Commander-in-Chief of the HOME FRONT to search for jobs from here to the Tampa area should this college one not work out! HA! :D

Remember if all else fails, you got CPB to fall back on!:D Seriously, you are able to use Veterans Preference to be hired. I wish you all the best in the upcoming weeks.
