i have my oral psych next week... what are the grounds for disqualification when it comes to the oral psych... any info will be greatly appreciated...

I talked to my background investigator last week and he said that everything was looking good and that he was turning in my profile by the end of the day. How long does it take from when my profile gets turned in, to the time I get a phone call or letter? Oh and did you guys who are in the LAPD process get letters saying you passed your backgrounds? Or did you guys get a phone call?

I have heard that quite a bit of people fail the pysch exam. I heard that the major thing that they want to ifnd out is if you will be mentally stable enough to handle the stress that comes with the job and that you will be able to cope with things such as shootings, physical altercations and so forth. Also, they will question us about any different answers. For example, if on two of the three written test we answer that we dont have anxiety but accidently we put on the third test we do then they will ask us why there is a difference. So I am keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully I pass my backgrounds then go onto my oral pysch.

I'm curious as to why they failed your PSYCH interview. Regardless, I think your course of action is the way to go by appealing it. I've heard of people failing the PSYCH interview due to poor judgements they may have made recently (ie, drving while intoxicated, etc.) or lack of life experience. I would recommend applying at other agencies to keep your options open for your career.
