Work History: Where can I get a full listing?

Greetings!

I am in the middle of the application process with my local police department. However, because I was a contractor in the past and because I've been gainfully employed for roughly 20 years at this point, I am not sure I can provide a full work history. I don't want to be that one guy who forgets to mention something and is disqualified over an inability to make sure he had all his personal history written down.

Is there any way to get a full work history from the IRS or Social Security Administration? Because I was a contractor in the past, I have a few years where I only have a vague notion of who I worked for.

I apologize in advance if this has been answered -- I couldn't find any specific answer to my question.

to an extent you can get a work history from the SSA. Forget how much it costs/year or how far back they go. Contact them.

Rather than the usual search is your friend... Cause I think it's stickied but don't have time to find it for you.....

Go to your local SSA office. They will run your social security number and will provide a list, with a fee of course (I think $5.00 per year) for every year that an employer reported taxes on yourself. Problem is, that when I did the same thing, it does not give you exact dates, just the year that they reported, so you kinda have to fill in the blanks.

I had a few odd jobs here and there, but make sure you put them down no matter how long you worked there.
