Did you ever get a clarification on this? I'm in the same situation now, except I know I took money for it and it was 10 years ago. I'm gonna fully disclose it at the PSI and take whatever comes of it.

I am not sure if age, date or any other variables will play a part. But if I am correct, the poly is also designed to uncover if you have committed a felony before and were not caught. A felony will get you a quick DQ from an LEO Bi, no matter what timeline. So how would this situation differ? It would be the same as if you were caught.
That’s if it constitutes as a felony.
The FBI requirements state that this is an automatic disqualifier, but that they will consider severity and frequency of drug usage. I guess I'm wondering whether that discretion applies to a drug sale as well. Don't both (using vs. selling) constitute the same penalty (both felonies I presume)? Otherwise no blemishes on my record, drug-related or otherwise, before or after this incident. I notice that the SF-86 only goes back 7-10 years on this question, so the only place I'd have the opportunity to disclose it will be on the FD-140 and PSI.
I'm not trying to be defensive about it. I did what I did and will accept the consequences, but would like to know what to expect before the meeting. Thanks for your input.
Well that I could not tell you. I for one am not an agent, nor have gone through the process. Your either going to get a yes or a no. That’s it right? So why not just go in be honest and not worried. I am not trying to attack you on this but, is it really going to help if you know what to expect? To some people it could sound like you want to strategize around what's going to happen. You said you were a police officer right? (btw where?). You know if you are caught deceiving or withholding something you will end all chances of future employment elsewhere right? If you are not trying to do those things then disregard.
