I am sending myself through an academy, and one of the questions is have you ever been arrested? The problem is that when I was 12 years old, three of my friends and myself climbed onto an elementary school roof(we were only on the roof for about 1 minute) and a janitor found us and called the cops. a police officer came and took us to the station and charged us with criminal trespassing. Is that considered being arrested? Probably a dumb question but I dont know the answer to it.

Actually here, you were detained because you were a juvenile.
Not arrested. Gotta love the lawyer double talk.
For now I would say you were arrested.
But you need to go ask the dept or officer who picked you up.
You are short on some information.
Did he release you to your parents?
Did he release you to juvenile intake?
Did you go to court?
etcOn a clear night, I can see the other deputies emergency lights at least 10 miles away.
But it isnt flat here LOL

They released us to our parents and that was it. I didn't have to do anything else regarding that manner. I know it does not look good to put on an application but for something I did 13 years ago when I was 12. Do you guys think that will be a problem for me. Considering that is the only time I was ever in trouble.

In and by itself, that is really a big nothing. However, if you fail to mention it on your background, that IS a big something and will get you DQ'd for omitting it.
I used to care. Now I take a pill for that.

When in doubt, DISCLOSE IT! I've never heard of anyone being DQ'ed for too much info.
