    Fairfax County, VA Police/background interview

I am currently coming towards the end of the Fairfax application process. Is there anyone else out there processing with the dept or currently with the dept? On the website, it is listed that all applicants are scheduled for the background interview. Is that something to prepare for, or is it just a straightforward opportunity to meet your investigator and go over your personal history statement? I felt like I was asked every question about my background possible during the polygraph so I can't imagine what else would need to be asked in the background interview...lol. Thanks for any assistance, and good luck to everyone else currently in the waiting game.

In my experience background intrerviews are just for you to meet your investigator and talk about some of your history, he will ask you about your poly and things that were on it that could become an issue. They then most likely will ask for references and some copies of documents such as HS diploma, certificates etc. Its pretty straight foaward. Good luck

When I got hired by Fairfax the background interview was fairly short. My BI and I went over my packet and I think he had some other questions about my background. It's been a while.

It was fairly informal and didn't last long. The BI started the investigation right after that.
