Good point. We'll see how things play out I guess.

True enough, it seems weird though to take a job and let them know at the same time "Just wanted to let you guys know this is a temp thing for me, I'm out of here as soon as that first LE agency calls me with a job."

I may do that if I end up taking the corporate job and like it well enough.

I kind of think I might like it. This is of course keeping in mind that inmates will throw their own body waste at me. I talked to a recruiter with this S/O and they said they hire a lot of entry level deputies out of corrections so it seems like a good starting point.
Personally, I would just take whatever civilian world job that you can get. Pay the bills and look responsible until your LE career sorts itself out.
We'll see what happens. As I expected, I received a job offer from two corporations. The one I'm considering starts at $59,000 a year plus over time with 80% of medical and dental paid. This includes two weeks vacation to start, several paid holidays, a relocation assistance package, a 9/80 schedule, a comprehensive 401(k) and a pension plan I can vest in after 5 years.
I will probably take this job and will keep my LE applications in process.
Thanks again.
"Cheshire Puss," she began, rather timidly... "Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where..." said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.
