    Background Process?

    i am a USPS employee and the taking tests to become a LEO i hate the background part i have no skeletons there but i guess everyone gets them.Is the background check for a LEO the same as for the USPS they do a federal all round check? any info would be great/

    11/27/06 - Letter came - I'm an alternate! If anybody fails a background I get put on the hiring list.

    Background checks when seeking employment as a LEO are MUCH more extensive and also much more lengthy. Just have patence during the process and don't put all your eggs in one basket (apply to more than one department, unless you're just set on the one you've applied to and want to throw all your chances on that one). In the military the rule is "hurry up and wait," and that applies here as well. Do what they ask of you promptly and absolutely correctly, and then, well, wait. The waiting is the worst part of everything. I'm sure most here will confirm that.

    Yes, waiting is the worse part of the process! I could almost scream and I have only been waiting for about 3 weeks! It will happen when you least expect it. Stay focused and try to have what I don't have Patience.;)
