    Mistake Of A Warrant Issued

I AM APPLYING FOR A LEO POSITION AND THERE WAS A MISTAKE WHEN I WAS DISCHARGE FROM THE NAVY. I WAS SENT HOME AWAITING ORDERS FOR WHICH THEY THOUGHT I RAN.That was proven false but a warrant was issued is this going to appear in my criminal history?

Warrant isnt the same as an arrest so I do not believe so. You may want to call the navy and double check.

I can't think of any good reason for you to ask that question other than you intend to not report it. I see honesty is one of your strong qualities

That's jumping to conclusions a bit.

I read your prior post about working for the USPS and I would assume they do quality backgrounds. I may be wrong, but considering it is a federal agency I am sure they would be able to find out about your situation with the Navy. Still get the paperwork and inform who ever it is that you are applying with about the situation.

I Thank Everyone For Their Response It Was A Question That A Person Highly Ranked In The Feild Advised Me No To Disclose That Since It Was A Mistake And It Could Lead To A Unfair Dq? Any More Input?

Failure to disclose something that could be found in your background would be a DQ for honesty related issues. Hiding things is never the way to obtain a job that relies on credibility and integrity.

Also a word from the grammer police, dont capitalize every word I'm sure someone here will be on your case for it shortly lol.

Ok, maybe Foo Man was on to something. Unfair DQ? Yes you're right. Background investigators really have no common sense at all. They lack the ability to look at something and decide that the person really is guilty or it was all a mistake. Give me a break.

Tell you what. You better hope that this "high ranking person" has enough clout to put you back in the process when they DQ you for lying.

Just put it on an supplemental sheet, explaining the whole thing. When you do, don't write every word with a capital letter though.

Newman, on your application, is there some questions asking, "Has a warrant ever been issued for your arrest?" If so, answer yes and explain it in the interview. If not, then no need. Provide WHAT THEY ARE ASKING!

Yeah... and that is why you aren't on the job.

If there is no spot to disclose it on the application then you SHOULD disclose it to your backround investigator should you make it thaty far. OR let him or her discover it on their own and watch what happens. I guarentee option one is better :p
