Any of u rookie cops that are in the academy now..Can u please let me know the schedule of a typical day in the academy after you leave Brooklyn College? Thanks

Day Tour: 0707 X 1530 (7:07AM - 3:30PM)

Night Tour: 1537 X 2400 (3:37PM - Midnight)

A typical day consist of 3 hours of gym, 4 hours of class, and 1 hour for meal. For the most part, that is a typical day. The schedule changes, sometimes you won't have gym.

first 1/2 is PT (Physical Training) second half is tactics. Lots of cardio, pushups, situps, etc. Academics are extremely easy if you just came out of school. A lot of it is common sense.

Thats good...I workout a lot anyway so that should be not that big of a deal..As for the academics i heard that there ok. My friend thas in the academy now said if u dont pass a major test that you get in the first like 2 months, they give a re-take and if u fail that, tehy let you go. Is that true? It must be hard to sit for 4 hours in a classroom.

Yes, it is true. There are 3 trimester exams in the academy. You have to pass it with a 75%. Fail anyone you will retake it a week later. Fail that, they will give you the option to resign or you will be fired.

Placement in the night or day tour is random. If you have a legit reason, like kids, they might accommodate you. But don't count on it. You can ride the LIRR and subways for free. You will get issued your MTA metrocards during the first few days in Brooklyn College. You will not get your LIRR pass until about 2 months in the academy. It is at the discretion of the train operator if they will let you ride for free until you get the pass. It is a courtesy, not a right.

do your work while in the academy and you shouldn't have any problems.

not necessary as an officer you carry on your shield so I wouldnt worry about a permit.

Does anyone no if I get to MEDICAL DIVISION,
1 LEFRAK CITY PLAZA at about 6am is there a chance ill find parking even if its a couple of blocks away, or or its like downtown no matter what time you get there, theres no parking available. Thank you in advance.
