I know the poster from this is trying to be helpfull. But it sounds more like his own past and bad interview process has made him post this comment. We should not post opinions on here as it gives other applicants the wrong advice. If you are not a cop yourself you really should not be posting on what it takes to get in because you are not in. I know many cops that are both family and friends that i have grown up with that did drugs, did there own crap on the street but turned around when they got older. Just because you make mistakes doesnt mean you cant be a cop. I do agree that if you have a felony well you will not get in plain and simple.
If you drink daily because you cant handle life, you will not get in. But if you drink from time to time im sure that you will get in. But again that is an opinion and we should not mistake them for actual facts as alot of people here sound off as they are.

It was decided a long time ago that individuals who had experience in the hiring process could post here. One does not need to be LE to express an opinion.
So you know some folks who made it in after a less than stellar life. Big deal, we don't know what agency they got on, the hiring requirements, or their actual background.
Based on your argument about knowledge, you shouldn't have posted here either.

Nevermind the fact that mxwelch had a buch of LEO's agreeing that his statements were true, right?
And for one to say a non-LEO shouldn't post advice on this board, and then turn around and do it yourself... little bit of a double-standard, don't you think? Mxwelch needs to follow your rules, but you do not?
Could a mod close this thread to maintain its integrity?
