its easy...already own a house...no mortgage...own both cars...no payments...but the $7 gallons of milk and $3.50 gallons of gas might be a killer

Question
Ok, I have a question, I thought about trying either Maui or Honolulu PD. And the salary is what gets me. HOW can you live with that pay?????? Even if my wife worked, we would still falter. Is there some sort of gov't assistance with living or anything like that????

I am pretty sure there is NO gov't assistance for being employed as a LEO out here. I do know there are lots of LEO's workin 2 and 3 jobs to be able to make it out here.

Tomorrow is the big day!!! People I have listed as Ref.'s have already been contacted by the B.I. And last week I even got to chit-chattin with the chief at the local golf club.

I lived in Kauai for a while. Going back in December to visit family. It's not to bad if you know how to shop.
Good advise for any of you prospective visiters, or if you are planning to move. Get your self one of those Foodland Maika'i saving card, or just stop drinking milk.
Oh, and if you like Kauai send your friends to Maui.:D

Hiring process at Maui PD seems jacked. They said 'thanks but no thanks' after the panel interview on Day 1.
I am finding much better luck with Honolulu PD although the process is verryyy long. I am on step 8/10, interview with the doc. then the polygraph!
