Hi there,
Just wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone had any information on this situation. I'm a U.S. citizen who's been residing in Canada for the last 9 years. I've since moved back to California and I'm now in the testing process for the LAPD. I have my preliminary background interview this week and have heard a TON of stuff about it. So here is my question:
I have heard that during your BI, they will often visit neighbors, contact employers and meet with people involved in your life somehow. Since I've lived in Canada for so long...how deep can they go into my background if they are so far away? And will Canada do anything to delay/hinder my process because of all their laws (Privacy Acts)?
Thanks!
