Outcome of Interview

Well hello all! Today I had my interview with the Miami-Dade Police Department, and it went well. I saw my BI after having a personal interview after orientation. I have been giving a date to take my polygraph! So I passed the first couple steps, now I just need to get passed the poly, physical, and psychologist! I was also told that the academy had started last week, and if I have a speedy process I will be working with the department doing paperwork and Ride-A-Longs. This is awesome new for me! I'm getting close.

If you're just kidding thats fine, but if you're serious you might have a little trouble with the psychologist.

Welcome to the long fun waiting process !!!! Just wait after the poly you'll be sitting here checking your mailbox every chance you get waiting for the next step!(which is the assesstment) I figure all the tests are easy its the wait that get's you ! lol. Good luck and Welcome to the wait! :D

Well thank you. I was told by my BI that it would take about 6-8 weeks to do the assessment after I pass the poly. I heard that it takes almost a year to get in the academy, but my buddy Alex is in now, who is half way through, and it took him 6 months. I hope I have a quick and speedy process. I know that Miami Beach Police has a ridiculously long process. I have a few friends who are cops and they give me advice on a daily basis and will help me to get through this. I would also like to thank you all for the advice you have given me thus far. I love you all.

Ohhh that Alex! Yeah, I know the guy. lol Just kidding with you my friend. I just find it odd when someone goes as far as giving away the name of a friend when trying to make a point on the Internet, as if we actually knew "Alex".

But like I said, I was just messing with you and good luck on the rest of the process.

Unless they changed the process since I went through it a couple months ago, it goes:

Written test- wait a couple months

Orientation- wait a couple weeks

Polygraph- wait a couple months

Assessment center test- wait for results (3 months in my case)

BI begins

Medical/Psych within a couple weeks of each other

I got as far as the BI and was told thanks, but no thanks due to more qualified candidates after nearly a year of going through the process. =( I haven't heard of anyone getting hired within 6 months with MDPD lately, but who knows.
