    What degree to get?

Im just starting my fourth year of college right now and Im contemplating going into law enforcement. However, Im not sure what to major in. Right now my major is business, but I find it tremendously boring. My school has one of the five best Law Enforcement/Justice Administration programs in the country and Im wondering whether I should major in Law Enforcement, finish up business or get a management or communications degree. Interest-wise, I would like to go with law enforcement but if I change my mind later or for some reason cannot be a police officer then my degree is kind of useless. However, if it would be a big boost for my LE career I may go that route. As I said above business is incredibly boring but I could finish it up. I know that alot of places like a management degree; would I be better off going with that? My other option is communications. This degree is a piece of cake and I know I could get better grades in this major than in business or management. Would the better GPA be better? As you can see im not sure what to do. Is an LE degree worth it or should I go for business, management or communications. I have to decide in the next few days so any and all comments would be appreciated. Thanks for your time!

I think you would be better served with a business degree. That way, if things don't work out in LE, you can always do something else. A degree in CJ or AJ is good for LE and some other legal professions, but for a LE job, I feel that the Business degree is just as good.

Why not concentrate on IT or MIS (also called IS)? Most business degrees have that concentration - that would be a definite plus to any large department.

    Good luck -
