So excited I could pee myself...

I got a call from a department I am applying for a reserve position. This also happens to be the department I want to work with more than anywhere else. Anyways, in 4 hours I will be in getting my fingerprinting done and stuff I assume that will be sent off to the FBI as part of my background check.

My mom also just called me and told me that my BI called her and asked a few questions. She told me that he said he would really like to see me get the position. As quoted to me by her "He's a great kid and is really interested in working with us". She also said that he is going to, or going to try to, get my paperwork done today.

Another funny thing. He asked her what nicknames do I go by. Then mentioned to her a nickname that I got in the academy, but I hadn't told her. So now I have to deal with her calling me "Marshmellow". I can only assume he talked to either one of the guys from my class or one of my teachers from the academy. I know that he called a department that one of the guys from my class went to. I also applied there, but will more than likely be pulling my app from there in the next few days.

Anyways...I'm far too excited for my own good. Trying to stay cautious and not get tooooo excited. Most things seem to crumble before me when I do that.

lol not my fault. I never told her. I think he talked to someone who knew about it. I know at least one officer at the department knew about it, or at least works with the instructor who gave me the name. Or if he called my other instructors he could have told him.

I was the single worst runner when it came to running our long runs. An officer who is also an instructor at the academy nicknamed me Marshmellow and said that would be my name until the end of the academy. By the end of the academy he said he would be calling me rock because he was going to build me up to it.

We never got to it lol, he changed work schedules and didn't get to run us as much. I did however improve dramatically and there were at least 8 people behind me on our last run as a class, so it wasn't all bad. And I guess its just fun calling a guy with my dark complexion and size, marshmellow. Considering I am anything but small and soft. :p.



But I am very sweet, /wink ladies.

Well...today my BI came to my house and talked with my mother-in-law while I was at work. Asked questions about me and if she supported my choosing Law Enforcement. Since I wasn't here I hope things went as well as they seemed. She does in home daycare and today is her busiest day of the week. She said from talking to him he said that everyone at the department likes me and would like to see me working there. I've met and spent a bit of time with everyone there from the janitor to the captains and the lieutenants. I've seen the chief around and he's seen me, but we haven't officially met or even had a conversation aside from a quick hello. My BI says he's going to do everything he can to get me the job. I still have to prove not to be a liar or crazy though.

I also got a call back from the department I applied for a full time position with. I go before their oral board on the 11th at 9:45 am. All in all, it was a pretty exciting day.
