    BI Information

What kind of stuff shows up on a BI? Or rather, what is looked for?
Just wondering if stuff like being fired from a job is something that gets a red flag and can hurt me. If so, do you get questioned about it? Or do they just assume you were in the wrong?

I got the bad end of the deal at my old job and I know they bad mouth me when they get the chance. Even though they were in the wrong for the "firing", and I won the (30 second interview) case with the Unemployment office.

I can go into detail if anyone needs. But more looking for advice, and to know what else is looked at (Grades? etc)

    Thanks
    Matt

A firing will result in a little interest but truthfully, how many people have been fired and still ,managed to get a job ? The BI will look at the WHOLE picture and not just your or your former bosses side. If it was a personality conflict or some other unjust difficulty ( or even justifiable) , as long as their was no criminal or dishonest act on your part, don't worry about it.

The technical reason for firing was "Time fraud" Off a minute here and there on my time clock..
Real reason was, I was one of three people on a contract that werent direct with the company, that had been there over the 3 or 6 months (?) that unemployment requires you to be employeed for.
One guy got fired for something simular about a month before. The other guy was in the process of being hired. Contract had about 10-15 people total. The day after I got fired the company announced that they had lost the contract and that everyone was going to be laid off... The other ~10 people on the contract were only there like 2 months, so wouldnt qualify for unemployment pay if laid off.

As I said, I got unemployment pay because they looked into it and said I wasnt in the wrong...

    Vette,
Technically they were right then? You were stealing time?
Even if unemployment gives you money, it doesn't mean you were "right", just that you are eligible for unemployment benefits.
I suggest you change your attitude towards this - take responsibility for your inappropriate actions.
It will most definitely show up on your BI. If I were the person interviewing you, I would NOT be happy/satisfied with that answer.
A - it doesn't matter what happened to others. Concentrate on what happens to YOU.
B - you did not sue the company for false termination (or whatever the term is). You just were able to get unemployment. It doesn't mean that the company was wrong to fire you.
C - you were FIRED. Admit to it, and stop rationalizing.

The actual job history may not necessarily DQ you, but your attitude about it may be a hinderance.
