I want it more than ever

Did anyone in Canada watch To Serve and Protect last night? The entire hour was devoted to the RTC #100 from the EPS where I will be applying. It showed them from the beginning, their very first day, where they were put through massive physical stress. They showed some classroom activity, some other training involving other recruits, some gun training...and finally graduation. I think they went through a 22-week program and then after that they have a 14-week in car training with an experienced officer. When this one recruit female was getting her diploma from the Chief of Police, her father and mother, who were former police officers in Edmonton were up there as well. What a great feeling it must have been not only for the graduate, but for her parents being former officers. They would have been very proud of their daughter.

Seeing that program, how tough it is mentally and physically, only makes me want to get there myself even more. I want to be up on that stage getting my diploma, and having my father up there too, as he is a member of the force still. It was actually a little emotional seeing them get their diploma from the Chief, and seeing how happy they were.

I think seeing that program showed me how much of a passion being a police officer is. Its not for everybody, but seeing that proved to myself that I believe it is for me.

I don't know if anyone can get their hands on a copy of the program, but if possible, I highly reccomend you doing so.
