New Guy Here - Just Passed the Exam

Hello all,

I'm new to the forums here and I'm hoping to get some advice if anyone can help me out. I just passed the written exam this morning with an 89. I'm not too psyched about it, I wish it was better. I'm scheduled to take the Physical Agility Test tomorrow afternoon, but I'm not too worried about it. I'm in pretty good shape. I have a few questions:

I checked my credit about 1 month ago and I was able to clear up a few delinquent accounts and one charge-off. I think my score was about 660 or so between the three different agencies. Is this acceptable for application to the Lubbock Police Department?

I was issued a ticket 2 summers ago (roughly 21 months) for "Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage before Noon on Sunday in a Public Area." I'm almost certain that was the exact wording on the ticket. I hired a lawyer and the ticket was dismissed without ever going to trial or any probation/community service or fine. Should I be worried about this? I don't know for sure, but it may be a Class C misdemeanor in TX.

Also, I have a concealed handgun license and I've been working in bar security (read: bouncer) for some time now. I'm hoping this will help a little with the application process.

I'd appreciate any insight into what I can expect in the weeks ahead. The academy is scheduled to begin around June 24th. Thanks for the help.
