What about chest hair??
I am a manly man and have some pretty wild chest hair. Do I need to trim it?

I'm afraid so :D.Originally Posted by Downtown
I kept my hair short. I think some people take the bald route since they were naturally heading in that direction anyway.
Relax, you don't have to come off so aggressive to me. I just had a question as to why thats all! My hair is very long, always has been, always will be, which is why I had a question about it.Originally Posted by LAPD4ME

I have never seen a female police offier in anything but a slicked back bun, which is what makes sense. All I was asking was, is there a specific REASON that a braid is desired over a bun? Besides the fact that its more complicated and will take longer to do?
Thanks.
You took it the wrong way...it was light hearted.
Hair is hair..suspects can grab a braid or a bun. They decided for everyone in the academy to be uniformed when it comes to hair. I'm nt sure why they decided braid over bun..but i think it has to do with it looking cleaner and less wispies.
As far as the chest hair goes, as long as you keep under 3/4 of inch you don't have to shave. Now back hair is another issue.
Just to let you know, there's nothing normal about the academy...everything is strange. Don't look for logical answers and such or you'll end up being stressed the entire academy. Trust me on this one. Always expect to do things the most difficult and inefficient way, and you'll be set. If you know you're the type to question everything and you do, it's going to be a very long eight months for you. Other than that, it's going to be a blast so have fun.Originally Posted by BlackRedline04
(Males are required to have their hair cut with 0 all around for at least the first few months and the bic is not required. Women need the french braid or hair chopped above the neck and ears.)
