I'm finally in the process. Just took the written test on Saturday and made it into the 10 or so applicants out of more than 150 testing. :D I was nervous, but the test was really not that bad. I turn in my personal history packet this week and we'll see what happens from there. They are shooting for a May 8th Academy.

Thanks for all the collective information provided by you guys and gals here. If nothing else, it helps immensely with the confidence factor having this info. It helps in many other ways as well, and I appreciate your time and effort here.

Best of luck. I'm right behind you in the process. I took the test for a sheriff's department at the beginning of this month and am awaiting the results (should hear something this week or next... I hope), and applied to take the test for a city department today (the test is scheduled for late April).

If you took the test last weekend and the department is shooting for a May academy date, it sounds like you may not have a terribly long waiting period.

Yeah it's not long. At least I'll know fairly quickly whether I made it or not. The first academy is May 8th an a month later they're doing a 2nd academy. They are getting two academies worth out of this testing period.
