    Arrow Questions about my History

Hey guys. I have recently passed 2 written and physical agility tests with two local departments.

Having received my P.H.S. I am starting to get a little nervous.

Although I have never received a ticket, never tried drugs, and don't have anything on my record, I am still worried about a couple of incidents that no one has any knowlege of with the exception of those involved. Here they are...

I am trying to be 110% honest on my PHS, forgive me if you laugh at some of these.

1)Have I ever quit a job without proper notice?
yes, when I recieved better offers (both times I was in training and wouldn't have stayed 2 weeks even if I had given them)

2)In the past 3 years have you missed days of been late due to alcohol or drug consumption?
yes, one time, dad called in sick for me, had a few beers night before, slept in, ended up going in anyway.

    3)Driven under influence of alcohol?
    Yes, 2 times

    4)Drunk in public?
    yes, 1 time

    5)Illegal gambling?
yes, went to las vegas with grandma, played a few slot machines. I honestly look 30, was never questioned.

    6)Posession of alcohol as minor
yes, I am currently 20. Although I have never had it in my vehicle.

    7)petty theft
    >Yes, maybe a few pens and paper from work....and a few sodas when I was working off shift hours and couldn't leave store.
    >One time at Wal-Mart I bought a bike because I had sold my car, when riding it home, both tires blew...had to carry it 4 miles home, went back up with dad and waited in customer service line for a hour for them to say, just get the one you want and we will exchange it. Found a higher priced one and went to the auto center to fill air in tires. He asked for my receipt, it was for the cheaper bike ($40 cheaper), he ok'd us and we left.....

8)Ever committed forgery?(falsifying any type of document)
    >XYes, dad asked me a few times to lengthen the expiration date on the insurance card when it was expired....

These are the negative incidents on my PHS that I am extremely concerned with. For the most part I have walked the line my entire life, but when you are filling out something like this, you really see your flaws. I know no-one is perfect and everyone has a skeleton of two in the closet, but are these incidents bad enough where I could get passed on?
I would hope they would see my clean record and clean life and see me as being honest for putting these incidents down.
As I said, these are all incidents that I am aware of and wanted to be as honest as possible when filling out my PHS.

    Thanks in advance

I've counted and I have done three of what you listed.

The only thing I think may cause you an issue is the forgery of documents.

Driving under the influence...may be an issue.

But we all make mistakes and learn from them..

    Good luck...

How long ago did all this happen? I wouldn't say it's too bad, but I'd be careful when telling the BI that "dad asked me to...". You need to be sure to accept blame and responsibility for your actions.

If you preface stuff with "xyz asked me to...", you had better be prepared to answer the question, "well, why did you do it?". By that point, you'll be running uphill, so be careful.

    Good luck!

Yep that's what I got out of it.

To be honest....you have a long list of issues. It will probably keep you from getting hired for a while. I would suggest college. The time will help. I think you're going to need a fair amount of time before you would be considered.

You cannot change what you have done.

You CAN improve on who you now are as what you do today is tomorrows work/life history.

You need to excel as a person and as a potential police applicant. This may take a few years ( I didn't get hired until I was 25 BTW). So what WILL you do ?

College ? Military ? Both ? Are you in good shape ? Do you have friends that could get you in trouble simply while you are along with them and they drink/drug or do other illegal things ? A good work history , regardless of where you work looks better. You do NOT need to work in security and I actually recommend that you don't unless it is an armed position which carries stringent qualifiications.
