Any LAPD applicants out there?

Is anyone currently in the LAPD process? I know it takes a long time to process and I just wanted to see if anyone might also have any time tables? PQE or oral scores? Thanks everyone!

I am taking the interview wednesday and the PAT the last sunday of the month. They said if all goes well with the interview I'll be taking the medical 2 weeks later. So I could possibly be done with everything this month.

I first applied with LAPD in 2003, but during the hiring freeze, all my scores expired. I took the PQE in November, got a letter in the mail a month later saying I passed. Just took the background over in Jan. Exactly a week after the background, they called to sched. me for the interview. I'm surprised how fast the process is moving along this time. Now I'm worried I might get in too soon, before I'm in shape for the academy.

Thats pretty good, those quick schedules are unheard of! Do you know why they are scheduling you for the interview BEFORE the other stuff ie; pat, and med? I thought the new departmental interview was at the very last step after those basics??? :confused: Do you remember how you did on the oral before you had to do the PQE? Any DQ's before?

Are the results of the written psych exam mailed prior to the oral psych interview, found out at the oral psych interview, or mailed after the oral psych interview?

I've done a search, but I came upon different answers. Please advise.

The written psych or MMPI is what your oral psych is based on. There is no pass/fail on it. The test shows what kind of traits and tendencies you have. So the oral psych is based on those results.

The PAT can be taken at any part of the process, since you can take it over and over again. I have already passed the poly once, and they said that score is good forever. I should have already taken the PAT but was having difficulty finding a date I was available. As it is, I had to request a vacation day from work (they only test on sundays), and I still don't know if I will get it. The medical exam/ psych is the very last thing, so you have to pass the interview to take it. Those are my last 3 steps.
