I've tried calling a recruiter but all they have is an answering machine saying where you can pick up an application

If you're serious enough about getting the job, you'll find a way to ask someone who would be able to answer.

First of all when I was 18, i had oral sex with my girlfriend who at the time was 15.

This would DQ you from all departments I know of (except for the most corrupt, desperate, bottom-rung ones out there)

It was consensual and we took pictures of each other while doing it on her new digital camera (her idea).

Regardless of whether it was "consensual", this was statutory rape, and taking pictures produced child pornography, another offense.

Besides this the only other time i have broken the law is when i bought a stolen video game.

Another blemish, but you never stated when this happened. If it happend years ago, it may be forgivable. If it happened last weekend, probably going to cost you still.

Besides these things i have a clean record, a perfect credit history, good references, a 3.3 highschool and 3.4 college gpa's and an AA degree in criminal justice. I want your honest comments... thanks to everyone who responds.

Regardless of these "pluses", the statutory rape and production of child pornography would DQ you from quality departments in my state, and I would assume the same to be true elsewhere. Laws exist for a reason, and just because you think a girl is cute and don't agree with the laws regarding legal age of consent does not exempt you from being held accountable if you break them.

well my friend i think its to early to apply for a leo position. every police agency has their process.the under age sex, and shoplifting will dq you from the background process right away. i say wait a few years.

Statutory rape and production of child pornography are not issues that one can "grow out of" when applying for an LE job. It's not like taking a candybar from a store when you were 11 or trying marjiuana once when you were a freshman in college. Both of the examples I gave, while certainly wrong and illegal, can often be forgiven with time and maturity. The offense discussed by the original poster are a bit more severe, and likely will DQ him from LE employment indefinately.

So if i transferred my degree and finished a BA over the course of about 4 years and applied when i was 24 do you think i could have a chance as long as i stay clean?

I think you're asking the wrong person. Don't take the most promising advice, take the most informed advice.
