Question about Marijuana Use - Plz Help

I had an interview today that was basically a series of background questions These questions ranged from Have I ever done drugs to How much do you make at your current job. I was asked about Pot usage. The question was have I ever used pot in the last 10 years. I told the interviewer yes. I have only tried Pot once and that was in 1997 while in college. I never bought it, sold it nor tried it again. He asked me when and what the situation was when I tried it and I told him what I just typed.

Do you guys think im going to be DQ'd from the process for this? I'm on level 3 of a 7 level process.

If this is the case then I doubt very seriously it will DQ you, IMO. You should be fine.

One time use 7 years ago should not be a problem with most departments, but they are all different. All you can do is be honest and if the rest of your background is clean it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

The rest of my BkGround is 100% clean. I answered the question honestly. The only thing we have is personal intergrity and I didnt want to throw that out the window for a job interview.

You should be fine. It won't help you any.. But it won't DQ you either. As long as the rest of you looks good, you should be fine.

I would say the departments I have been with, and worked with, this would not effect your background.

Well, I guess you got me there. Im new to this and wasnt looking at the traffic part being part of that. I was thinking more along the lines of arrests etc. My ignorance.

I'm familiar with the hiring practices of a number of departments in Alabama, particularly in the Birmingham area. Tell me where you are applying and I may be able to offer you some information specific to the department.

We REQUIRE 5 yrs clean and no history of chronic use. You would not be DQ'd at my dept.
