Denial letters....hell, I used to have a file full of them. Only have one acceptance letter though. I only needed one :D

Be patient, your acceptance letter will come eventually.

So...just like that #1 and #2 departments are out of the picture for me

My #1, 2, 3, and 4 choice for departments didn't work out. I ended up getting hired with an agency I had never even heard of. I love it here!

I put in an application for a local department recently (also my #2 choice for places to work) and today I got back my thanks, but no thanks letter.

I also talked with my old HS SRO who is also the BI for my #1 choice department and they just hired 3 new guys and won't be able to hire anymore budget wise, even though they are down 4-5 who are out on sick leave.

So...just like that #1 and #2 departments are out of the picture for me :(....for now anyways. Guess its time to start looking at the other places in the area to apply.

Apply everywhere....if you still have the desire to go to a department, then wait until you have at least a year experience, and apply to that department.

Yea...I figured as much. A few officers at my #1 choice department suggested that I get a year at another department (mostly suggesting my #2 choice) then applying there. Figured it was worth a shot since I know of some officers hired from my academy right now as new hires to that department.
