I guess here comes the long waiting part and I can only assume that background times vary from applicant to applicant. No problem for me, I have about 4 months to kill.

mjohns2 and R.Cefola (and anyone else),
How long was the wait between your BI contacting you and the step prior to that?
Thanks
I believe I waited about a month, maybe a month and a half.
Greetings, I'm new to the site and saw and wanted to jump in to your group with a quick question. I'm an east coast guy / prior Marine Corps background in CA. I was going to visit my brother in L.A. and saw that the LAPD offers thier writen test on a weekly basis. I planned to take the test while visiting. Can anyone give me a meter on the difficulty of the test, and if there are any specific study guides, info, ...etc. I should go over? Do I need to bring anything/documentation out of the ordinary?
Thanks for any support and good luck !!!!
go to www.joinlapd.com...take the preliminary...find out if you qualify for expedited..then call the recruiter....
From what I remember the written test was easy.
basic grammer type questions and I believe one essay style question.
its a multiple choice test which you have 1 hour to complete then 3 essay questions which you have a 1 1/2 hour to complete...
