NYPD Jan 06

Hello everyone, hope all is well. I'm a Jan 06 hopeful and was told back in June to call the end of July to start processing (I'm from 4004). Well today they are telling me there not sure when I will begin. Has anyone started processing recently for the Jan 06 class? I'm thinking maybe I got a bad answer.

I was from 4004 also and from what i was told my investigator sent my paperwork down on friday and by thursday they had the list established already so i never got called.

im from 4004 also...I had everything in and was on the "ready to hire list" up until july 8th when i was put on psych review..now have to wait till jan

Anyone's guess...just wondering.

Since the current class is scheduled to graduate on December 28, 2005 would that mean that the January class would start the week before Christmas? Or would it be more likely to start after the first of the year?

I would think Jan. 2, 2006 is a reasonable start date. Keep in mind however, the July '05 class started the monday before the Jan. '05 class graduated.
Therefore, Dec. 26, '05 is a possibility. All depends how easily they can fill the class.
Start date is always subject to change as is the graduation date for current class.

Maybe they'll hire a class prior to January '05 and consider it an '04 class, and pay the recruits the 40k/yeari instead of the 25k/year... Good luck to those going in.

I highly doubt that and to be honest it will prob be along time before the salary changes again...i'm sure it will becasue this will never fly for a long period of time.

i just saw a PBA flyer floating around the command from pat lynch saying that he met with PC kelly and that kelly was very upset that the arbitrator did not consult him on the 25k a year starting salary. saying they had no idea how bad it would affect recruiting. also i believe it said that the pba was meeting with the office of labor relations (OLR) today to present the new demands for the PBA's already expired for a year contract. which included trying to bring the starting salary back up to 40k.

I kind of had a feeling that they would try to get the pay back up in time for the January class. I hope they succeed.

Will Friday's check reflect our correct pay rate? And is the retro money (not much for me) included in the same check?
