    Driving Suspension

I want to apply to become a police officer, but one thing im curious about is....

Almost 3 yrs ago with a 'g2' license (in canada is a beginner license cant have ANY alcohol in blood)

I had 1 beer and got a suspended license, yes i know tsk tsk.....

On the Application it asks, have u ever had a suspended license, and here in canada suspensions come off in 3 yrs, should i put i have had it suspended?

and will this prevent me from being a cop..
    thanks

I wasnt Convicted of a DUI, just having alcohol in my blood with a beginner license, hopefully this wont eliminate me from getting an interview as soon as they see taht :(

If they ask, "Have you ever had your driver's license suspended?"...then put yes. If they ask, "Is your driver's license suspended at this time?"...then put no.

Just tell them, they're going to find out with a quick, "qdh your name" and one click of a mouse on NCIC (does Canada use NCIC? ).

I believe that any officer in recruitment will agree with what I was once told by a BI:

"We don't expect you to be perfect, we expect you to be perfectly honest!"

That policy worked for me. I had issues in my past that could have caused some concern, but I was 100% upfront with all of it and pointed out how and what I had learned from it.

The suspension is probably not a disqulaifier , but lying about it will definitely get you and your application thrown out.
