Hello, I am only 20 and for lapd you have to be 20 and a half to take the written, is there anyway I can start the process or take the written now for police officer not reserver officer? I heard some departments will allow you to start your background packet before you even take the written test.

They check ID when you take the written and you have to be 20 1/2 before that date. You can't start before turning 20 1/2 sorry.

LAPD4ME is right. you cant start the process till your 20 1/2. be patient time fly's. good luck.
