Math on written test and the academy?

Just curious how much math can I expect on a written exam? How much do you have to do in the Acadmeny?

Math was always my worst subject, and I did ok in the academy. I don't remember there being any math at all, but then I am old and going senile. Traffic Collision Investigation school had a bit more than I liked, but I did ok there too.

I think it depends on where you go... For instance, Austin PD application had ZERO math...and thus far in the academy, there has been no math either.

It's not too bad until you start doing the forumulas for minimum speed loss, MSL over different surfaces and co-efficient of friction, accounting for road crown and incline, chord/middle ordinate equations for yaws. Delta-V.

I'm just messing with you, that's all accident reconstruction. I don't recall any math in basic academy.

In my academy the only math we had to do was in accident investigations. And they give you the formulas to use so it's really not that bad.

Oh and the other math was counting pushups and flutter kicks.

The Police Officer Standard Test that I have taken with a few departments in Oregon have a math section. It is all basic stuff.
