Hey guys, Happy New Year to all! I had a quick question that I thought you guys might be able to help me with. I just got contacted by the NYC Dept. of Corr. for an appointment. I was phsychologically DQ'd from NYPD in '03. I was wondering if I have a shot at getting on Corrections with this, or is it an automatic DQ? I heard Corrections is a bit easier, and I'm appealing my DQ with NYPD. Should I go froward with them? Or, am I setting myself up for failure? Any info guys, mucho appreciante! Semper Fi! :confused:

I would suggest you take another NYPD exam and don't waste your money on the appeal. I took my psych on the same day as a guy that was a psych DQ previously with NYPD. He passed the second psych and went on to the mini-medical. There also were quite a few city corrections officers processing for NYPD. Good luck.

I would not waste my time with it. Re-take a new test and move on.
