Okay so I aced the interview for my internship at the local PD on Tuesday (according to the lady that called me a few hours later), which was pretty cool considering I went with my goatee and sideburns and just wore a basic shirt and tie. And later picked up my background packet. Finally finished that book and turned it in today, it was the same background packet that they would give to a police officer in his interview process. I signed off for a polygraph and all that stuff but my question is. Will they actually give an intern a polygraph or was that just part of the packet for the actual cops and will they let it slide, I'm don't have a problem taking a polygraph or anything, but just seems like a lot for an intern. Also I thought that I would not have passed the interview for one question, the Sgt. asked me "If you were assisting in supervising the jail and a fight broke out between inmates and police officers, would you assist?" I replied "Yes, in any way possible." And he responded "Even if you knew you were disobeying orders by physically involving yourself in the situation?" And I responded "I have been raised to never stand around and watch somebody get hurt or killed, so at that point my superior's orders would be the last thing I was worrying about." Apparently I was wrong since I passed the interview, but I'm still curious, what do you guys think he thought of that, am I wrong to say that or was it the correct way to answer the question?
