I'm gaining experience.

at going through the hiring process. I opened my mailbox today and found another letter with a test date. I test on Tues. and then on Thur. I have an oral board next month with another dept altogether. I hope none of the dates conflict. Has anyone ever had multiple applications and had this happen?

It happens pretty regular and you've got a few choices to make:

1. Pick the department you really want to work for and go to their tests.
2. Call the lower ranking departments and ask if there is a alternate test date.
3. Use a time machine and go back in time and attend the ones you missed.

When I was going through the hiring process the department I work for now didn't seem to like the fact that I had multiple applications in with other departments. When I got a conditional offer of employment (pending phychological and physical) they forced me to send in a letter to the other departments discontinuing my applications with them.

Nope, I don't have a time machine. (If I did, I'd be richer than Donald Trump)

As for making you remove yourself from the hiring process from other agencies once they did a contional officer, that sucks. There are so many reasons why a agency may put off a conditional offer and then you'd be SOL. One of the biggest I've seen is Hiring Freezes and stuff like that.

The obstacle course time is based on what we do at the academy. I don't know if the states obstacle course is the same as ours.
