Hi I am in the process of getting a job in law enforcement and I had a question. After high school I went to a junior college and graduated with a degree in culinary arts. I worked as a chef for a few years and didn't enjoy it and felt it was not really going anywhere. I was laid off from my last restaurant job last year and decided it was time to make a change. i am now working in a grocery store and trying to get into law enforcement. what i would like to know is what do i say if the department asks why i gave up my career as a chef ? i want to be honest but i also dont want to make my self look bad.

There is nothing wrong with working in a profession and later deciding it really isn't what you wanted to do. Say exactly that.

Just be honest, most leo's left another profession before becoming leo's.

I have arrested quite a few Chefs over the years. Mostly for drugs. I am curious, is it true what's been told to me, that most Chef's use drugs... and they do because the Job is so stressful?
