Notice before start of Academy?

Just curious how much notice did you get before starting the academy? Reason I ask is because I am in the application process with AZ DPS and my BI told me he didn't see anything in my past to prohibit me from moving forward. I spoke with him again on Wednesday and he said I should be hearing back from them shortly. This was the last step, already completed everything else. The next ALEA starts on Feb 7th, so I was just wondering when to possibly expect notification. The next Academy date after that is April which is no problem either, just more time to get into better shape.

NYPD notified me 4 days prior, which is towards the longer lengths of preperation. Many people get as little as 1 day.

NYS Troopers have told me they try to give 3-4 weeks, but many have heard 2 weeks or a couple of days beforehand. In the cases (I've heard of) where it has been a matter of days it is because these people were not admitted to the academy with everyone else, but instead were called to take the place of people who dropped out.

A bunch of us are anxiously waiting for our letters. The academy starts in about 3 weeks.

I have been verbally told by the college that runs the academy im going to, that I will have no problem making the March academy date because of how early my application was submitted. But the letters go out in a week or two for us. So, about a months notice. Which I do need so I can grab a student loan.

I am currently attending ALEA and I was given 3 weeks notice. But I got hired on by Glendale not DPS. I know some people in my class were only given 1 and some 2 weeks notice so it depends on the department. DPS needs people bad though so I hope you make it through. And I hope you are in good shape. We lost 4 recruits from DPS in our class because physical injury.
