I don't know if I need to worry or not.

About 5 years ago I applied to a state agency, I passed the written test, the Pt test, oral interview, polygraph, background, medical and pych tests. However, after taking the pycho test I never heard back from this dept. I called the HR and was told that the academy class had already started and if I had not heard anything then I was not selected. I knew a sgt. in the dept and had him look into the situation for me, he told me that there was two other people with the same last name in the process and that paperwork got f***** up.

Now my problem, I am currently in the process with another dept, I have made it to the background. I met with my BI and he stated his only concern was why I was not selected to this other dept 5 years ago.. Again, I was never told the reason why I was not selected, in fact I never received a word from this dept either way to this day.

tell him what you know about the situation and ask the sgt. if you can use him as a reference. He might not be willing to do that though, but worth a shot.

What have you been doing in the time in between applications? Why did you not go after any other departments?

Tell them the same thing....sounds fishy to me though...I would contact them for an answer first.

I have been working at a small pd, but these where/are both state agencies.
I have tried to look into,by just got pissed off after making it so far and so much time not to hear anything.

HR will not tell me anything about it. To me, they fucked up and are trying to now cover it up.

There is other LE life beyond state agencies and I would not limit myself to those unless that's who you want to work for exclusively. Surely not all the other agencies are giving you the same deal.
