Background DQ ?

Hi, just signed on to this board and see that there is a bunch of good people on here and im enjoying and learning some stuff on here, hope everyone had a great christmas and new year. now on to my question.. August of 03 i was comming back from a friends house down south, there is a highway that is usually dead at night that i took, i saw some races going on and i decided to stop and be nosy, anyway i circled around looking at everone like 2 times and decided to go home, wrong, road closed ahead and behind me.. because i was nosy i got caught up in a drag racing sting.. so they arrestted me, i never raced on the street before but they charge me with unlawfull assembly and racing on a public highway. about 200 people were arrested, all the police reports were typed up previously into 2 stack, the driver stack which said you were drag racing and unlawfully assembling, and the passenger stack which just said that you were unlawfully assembeling. well i was the driver so guess which one i got? of couse at the first court date the drag racing was dismissed cause they were wrong about that, however they may have had me on camera actually being there so my lawyer told me the best way out was to complete this pre trial intervention course, what the dispo on the case came out to be was NOLO PROS comp PTI (which is the class) nolo pros simply means that the state attorney did not wish to purse the charges.. so do you think this will disqualify me, the arrest report sounds bad, thank God some departments only want the official court despo, other that that im squeaky clean, not a druggie, very good moral character, always willing to help people, and ive changed my driving habbits since ive decided to become a LEO . i have 3 speeding tickets on my record, almost 2 years since the last one.. im probally going to pay and put myself through the academy so do you think any of this would automatically DQ me?

I'm not a cop but I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Just be completely honest through the whole process. If they even suspect deception it's over with. Next time choose a different route. Like you needed to hear that now... :p

Unfortunately he has now admitted to lying to a police officer ( and the rest of us) in another thread here in which he was pulled over a couple of times.

How exactly did i lie to a Police Officer, please take a look at my reply. I never said that i have never been pulled over in the past.

I agree Mcsap. I also looked though his prev thread and found this one too. For the rest of you, take a look at his other posts.

1st rule. If you want to be a police office you must be totally honest in your outside life do the best you can to follow the laws. From my experience moral character weighs just as much as qualifications or education.

We are not out for anybody. Those of us on the board have been around and are able to tell when a story doesn't seem right.

As it turned out it was a misunderstanding you had regarding OEM equipment. You were under the impress that you could install any facory equipment on any vehicle.

As you said in the other post you were sorry for the misunderstanding and are now aware that OEM means origional factory equipment that was installed on that specific vehicle from the factory.

Honestly, I would say change your plans, if you want breaks for LEO's just because of planning on going thru the academy..tough luck won't happen. So time to grow up, rethink the future, quit lying, looking for sympathy, for excuses.

No, i never said i was pulled over twice in one night, you just assumed that. I however didn't make it clear, i was pulled over Saturday night as well as Monday night. sorry for the confusion, and of course i dont go looking to get pulled over, i try to follow all laws, especially always using blinkers etc, but no one is perfect, but i guess my car kind of sticks out like a sore thumb, it being yellow and all.

Anyways, looky here, you claimed in another thread you were pulled over by LEO's in same night on two separate occassions. And telling them you know their Sgt will only get you on the bad side of any LEO. So..why not grow up? and QUIT whinning.
