question the the interview score? (LAPD)

hay everyone, i got back my score from the interview with lapd.. 80% now is this a good or bad score? i am also from another ethnicity. so just wondering after going through the process successfully will i get picked up with a score of 80%. need help thanks

You need at least a 95% to get in. I would retake it again. In my class (12-04) that is the minimum.

With LAPD it's all about the consent decree. Different ethnicities do have a different standard for Oral scores. They hire according to that. LAPD needs females so a female with a lower oral will get in over a male with a higher oral. It's all on the needs of the deparment. I can tell you 80 is not a good score at all. The lowest I've heard that they have been taking is a 90. You really need to retake it.

Im in the lapd academy and that simply is not completely accurate. They do recruit in such a way that the department wants to mirror the community, but what is wrong with that. The only thing that can help your chances is having a degree or more importantly speaking Spanish. If what LAPD4me is saying were true then the academy would be full of black females. I bet that if you spoke Spanish, have a degree, you would get in with an 80 for sure. If you have neither then you had better get 100%.

Coastie what is your racial make up of your class. Also Coastie your class has our respect, the 10 class needs to learn from you guys.

thanks for the info guys. my ethnicity is filipino and i do speak the language. and i know that lapd only has about 2% filipino officers. that was the break down last time i seen. also i know that the community of los angeles is being heavily populated by filipino decent. so i was hoping that their would be a demand for filipino officers because of the very few filipino officer 2% on the department? what was weird was my first oral was 95% when i re-took the oral and they gave me an 80%? and now instead of 6 months to retake the oral, its 12 months now? anyways ill just wait and see.

when they break down the hiring they don't break down the females past the fact they are females. Otherwise that would mean that an entire class would be female. The 12-04 class is the most diverse class LAPD has seen in a long time. 56 total, 20 females and very very diverse. Speaking another language will help you out more than you know it. They will be having a class a month starting Feb until June so that means a lot more spots will be available. Thats weird that your score went down but you passed! Hang in there get all your tests vaild and you should be getting into one of the classes.
