Ok, I've been reading around on this forum about some of the stuff asked on a B/I. and im just wondering if once I get out of the academy at my community college, will there be a problem with any of this when I apply to a department. I live in Florida if that matters any.
First off, I have a very clean background. im 19, and have 30 college credits (pretty decent grades). Spent four years in a high school Marine Corps JROTC program, doing volunteer work with them as well. I've held two jobs so far, still working for both of them. Employed at one for 2 years and a few months, and the other for 3.5 years.
The only thing that might show up on a police record would be a single speeding ticket where the "official" speed was 64 in a 55. Other than that nothing else will come up on a record. The only other glaring thing (only reason why I ask, is that someone had a question on a B/I 'have you EVER operated a vehicle while intoxicated or impaired?' or something along those lines.) was a single event when I was 17. I had a couple sips (yes, just that, only sips) of alchohol, and I drove home about 3 hours later. this has been the only time I have ever drank.) But, I wasnt ever pulled over that night, so it wouldnt be on a police record. It was stupid for doing that and being 17, but I honestly havent touched alchohol since then. So, im wondering if I should even report that incident whenever I do a B/I to be hired on a department? and if I do, will it pose a problem for me?
Other than that, my background is clean. And if anyone can tell me if from the looks of that if I would make a good canidate or not for a department, that would be great as well. Thanks
