    What do detectives make on average? How hard is the detective exam compare to Sgt exam? Thanks.

    there is no detective exam. you have to earn the rank of detective

    CAPT
    ETC...

    Detectives make differing amounts based on what grade they are. From the RUMORS that Ive heard you really dont make grade unless youre really hooked up or find Lindbergs kid. NYPDs website claims that the average 3rd grade detective makes $88K/yr. Of course, thats factoring in a lot of stuff that you may not get, or that shouldnt be in the equation.

    What ever you do BE HONEST. Tell him your story and that you've changed and what your doing now. Then if you get the job, your going to have to keep your cool and stay out of trouble. Good luck.

    no degree needed unless you wanna make captian to make SGT all you need is 64 credits
