He told me to tell the board about all the 1000+ hours of Explorer Detail hours I have, about how I have hundreds of hours of interactive ride-alongs, he told me how to sit and keep scanning the board with my eyes rather than focusing on 1 interviewer. He told me that I should go into a little detail about how I have become very profecient in Radio Proceedures, Handcuffing, searching, the PDs Policies, etc... Basically it was showing the board that with all the training I have received in the past, how it will help me move into a CSO position with less time than it would take most people.

I must admit, the idea of being an explorer used to appeal to me but I really did not want to come across as a "wannabe" as some were suggesting.

Okay ! I just got my results
!!!
Basically, they are hiring for one position, usually there are about 40-60 applicants, As I posted before I had to take a written exam and an oral board before a detective, Patrol LT, and someone from city personnel. Out of everybody who tested and interviewed I ranked...
4th.
So basically from here I am waiting and hoping 3 people flunk their polygraph / Psych exam so that I can give it a go to get hired. The rank should hold for 1 year then I will have to reapply. I feel pretty good I got 4th place, so now Im hoping for the best :DOfficer Tina Griswold, EOW 11-29-2009

New update... I talked to the Patrol LT who was on the board [he actually pulled me aside tonight when he saw me in the PD ] He told me on the Interviews I had actually done the best and was ranked #1 out of everyone who interviewed, but the only reason I had gotten #4 was that I was put behind 3 people from the last list or something to that nature. So Im still waiting to hear from someone.
