LAPD Background

Has anybody had a background done (perhaps more recently)
by LAPD?
(I am technically still in the medical evaluation phase. I had to fax additional medical records.)
Other than that I assume I am in the background phase at this point. They (LAPD) sent some questionnaires out...and thats all I know of at this point. I assume they checked DOJ info....DMV about me etc.
If anyone can give me some info on their BG procedure...time it took...people contacted if any...academy date, that would be great. Thanks

Are you sure you are in the application process? I just had my initial background interview with the LAPD on Tuesday, and you would certainly know if they have started it or not. If nothing else, you would surely remember filling out the 30 page personal history form!

The medical exam is about the last step before being hired, so I'm a little confused by your question. What parts of the application process have you completed so far - written test, physical agility, etc?

Yah im sure dude.
I did out "of-town-testing". Passed: ORAL, background interview, written psych, physical agility, medical eval, psych test and interview, and yes the POLYGRAPH.

If ur familiar with the process at all...the medical is at the tale end of process. But thats for "out-of-towner". Might be different in your case. Hope that enlightens you.

After the initial background interview I was told that there were a few things they needed to check out and that I would hear back by mail, that it may take 1 or 2 months...Does that mean I'm out? or is there a chance I can still make it? Thanks for any input...

If you were out they would tell you YOUR OUT. Its possible they will discover something in your background that DQ's you but its also possible they just need to verify some stuff. I know waiting is tough in this process but alot of you guys stress yourselves out by hanging on and analyzing EVERY word these people tell you. Stay clean, make good choices and let the cards fall where they may.
