wondering how far everyone was in the NYPD hiring process and how everything is going for you
Passed the written, medical, written psych, and had my psych follow-up interview this morning. I have the physical exam (obstacle course portion) tomorrow, and meeting with my background investigator to finalize all my documentation next week. The background packet is a *****, but I'm almost done. (whew)
i'm in the out-of-state (quest? cwest?) program, so i'm taking all of my testing in one week. i'm flying in sunday, and have to report for my medical at 6:30am on monday. i'll have one or two tests every day until i pass them all or they send me home.
i've gathered basically all the info for the paperwork and obtained a typewriter, now i have to just sit down and do it.
datrix, i had my psych this morning too, what time was yours at and how long were u in there for.....and are u taking the train in tomorrow to the agility, let me know, ruthless.....that almost makes me happy everthing of mine is spread out, yer probably gonna be so stressed out the week that u come up
I already asked daltrix, but maybe you guys can help. My packet was missing the APD 19 (Employment forms). I'm having a hard time getting one. My investigator said she'd call me back but hasn't. I don't want to bother her and get off on the wrong foot. Someone at the candidate service desk told me it is ok if i can get a photocopy of someone else's. Can anyone help me out? If so, PM me and I'll give you my home address. I would REALLY appreciate it...
I have passed the written and medical. I have the agilty in 2 weeks, hopefully scheduling my written psych tommorow.
My psych interview was for 2PM but they took me a little early. It took maybe 20 minutes total. Almost all the questions came from the sheets we filled out the day of the written psych exam (not the actual test, but the background info). It was pretty straightforward. I'm probably going to take the LIRR in, paying $25 for parking each visit sucks.
I haven't applied.
Edit- Oh. You mean just those who will apply. I thought you said everyone. ;)
Made In Canada
I'm digging my way to something better
Ogden, yo your investigator is probably gone for the week, most of them are on vacation this week because school is on break, dont be afraid to call again they cant hold it against you, as far as my papers, theyre all filled out or id help u out
what time are u taking thre LIRR into Penn Station.....maybe well ride in together
hey guys/girls it says we have to run the 1.5 mile run within 12:51 min...This info is in the candidate resource book. Is this what the initial run has to be under just to get into the academy? Can anyone clarify this..thanks
hey ogdogg16 I have an extra ADP19 sheet if you still need one? Let me know
My medical is scheduled for this Friday at 6:30. I was in a car accident last month, and currently attending physical therapy. Will they put me on review for this? I've heard the psych is killer but it is not that bad?
Sully yes I do still need one! I pm'ed you also. Please let me know if you can help and how you want to send it.
As far as the 1.5 mile...That is the time you need to graduate the academy. To pass the test in the hiring process the time is 15:30 + or - a few seconds. I'd say it is best to try and be able to pass the day you set foot in the academy though.

Police101, I'm not sure. The one thing I can tell you is bring everything with you! There were 13 guys at my medical (only 18 actually showed up), and I'd say 3-4 went on review. Most had operations in the past 5 years or so. That's not neccessarily a bad thing, but if you bring the records with you for the operation, or from your physical therapist stating that you will recover fine, you may avoid review. Without those records I would say you will prob. wind up on review. Again, not an automatic DQ or anything, but just a huge hassle cause they will probably make you go down again at 630AM...
Also, you may want to try and call 212-RECRUIT and ask for the medical division's number, maybe they can help you further...
Does anyone have a copy of the APD/PS3 form? I'm missing that one from my packet and unfortunately my investigator isn't around this week. If you do, please let me know.
baseballguy: I'm gonna take either the 5:43 or 5:55. Most likely the latter because it doesn't stop in Jamaica and still gives me 1 hour to walk down to the academy.
I'm actually missing that one too. It doesn't need to be typed, and I was thinking maybe the investigator gives that to us when we hand in everything. If anyone has it though, I'll take that one too...
